OPEN MASEREEL
6 & 7 June 2026
OPEN MASEREEL returns!
For two days, MASEREEL – centre for contemporary art will once again become a vibrant meeting place where anyone with a passion for art can discover innovative artistic work.
This second edition of our biennial arts festival also celebrates our brand-new artists’ pavilion.
Twelve new creations
At the invitation of MASEREEL, Carlotta Bailly-Borg, Sammy Baloji, Julien Meert and Shervin/e Sheikh Rezaei have spent the past few months developing ambitious new work in our renowned studio. The result – Hibernus#3 – will premiere during OPEN MASEREEL.
At the same time, six alumni have been given carte blanche to present a new solo project in the new artists’ pavilion: Gerard Herman, Serene Hui, Lili Huston-Herterich, Felix Kindermann, Sandrine Morgante and Josse Pyl.
To mark the inauguration of the long-awaited artists’ pavilion, the accompanying art integration by Daniel Dewar & Grégory Gicquel, as well as a permanent intervention by Patrick Van Caeckenbergh, will also be officially unveiled.
Diverse public programme
In addition to several exhibitions, OPEN MASEREEL also features a diverse public programme — including performances, artist talks, introductory tours and food trucks — and an idiosyncratic collection presentation. On Sunday, we’ll be giving our youngest visitors some extra special attention.
