Over the weekend of 6–7 June, MASEREEL – centre for contemporary art is hosting the second edition of the successful OPEN MASEREEL arts festival: for two days, MASEREEL will become a vibrant meeting place where anyone with a passion for art can discover innovative artistic work. On Sunday 7 June, we’ll also be giving our youngest visitors some extra special attention.
As well as several exhibitions featuring both brand-new work and gems from our collection, you can also look forward to:
13:00 | Doors open – all exhibitions are open
13:30 | Children’s programme – Welcome committee for artists: decorate a party flag in the MASEREEL style and put the finishing touch to our festival!
14:15 | Panel discussion with Melissa Gordon, Perri MacKenzie and Jivan van der Ende (moderator: Xenia Benivolski) on Self-Publishing as an Artistic Practice
| Children’s programme – Print your own pancake: learn screen printing with syrup and icing sugar, then eat your own work of art!
15:00 | Musical performance by Burger Service
| Children’s programme – Home is where the heart is: use various stamping techniques to make a unique weather vane that you can take home with you.
16:00 | Discussion with Filip Van Dingenen following his recent monographic publication Protocols & Diplomacy for undisciplined practitioners (moderator: Anne Wetsi Mpoma)
