MASEREEL

Vital Signs is a monographic publication by Melissa Gordon, featuring texts she performed live over the past decade. Her writing explores gestures in painting, touching on themes such as withdrawal, (female) genius, fraud, and notions of “suckcess.”

Rooted in feminist organizing, the texts trace her evolution from editor to performer. Most pieces appear here for the first time, accompanied by full-page details from her Female Readymades series—installations of objects, texts, and gestures arranged within architectural frameworks.

The publication is a collaboration between MASEREEL and Occasional Papers, with a contribution by Páḋraic E. Moore
