MASEREEL

No more racing in circles – just pacing within lines of a rectangle is an audio box that both reflects on Tris Vonna-Michell’s lecture performances within a limited timeframe and presents a selection of the sonic aspects of his artistic practice.
The numbered edition contains a box with four audio cassettes and a text by Jan Verwoert. The tapes combine live recordings and studio sessions with spoken word, improvisations, and musical compositions. Together, they showcase Vonna-Michell’s varied approaches to verbal narrativity and document his collaborations during performances and sound compositions.

This work was commissioned by Frans Masereel Centrum, in collaboration with Mount Analogue, as part of the offline and offsite group project Solitude.
