Ken Verhoeven draws inspiration from found objects and situations to create new connections within his work. At the invitation of MASEREEL, he transformed the rear window, including the wiper, of three different cars (a Mercedes-Benz A-Class, Suzuki Swift, and Mini Clubman) into a “printing machine.” Sheets of custom‑cut Japanese paper were placed on the rear window and coated with screen‑printing ink, after which the windshield wiper activated the printing process. This resulted in curved prints that are reminiscent of classical paintings and, when folded, take the shape of a fan or lampshade.

Each of the three cars gave rise to its own work. The use of the Mini Clubman, with its split rear window due to the double-door trunk, produced prints that resemble traffic cones once folded. The resulting work, Mini Clubman: Set of Five Traffic Cones.
