MASEREEL

On the occasion of the publication of RES NULLIUS (2025), presented at MASEREEL, Wim Cuyvers created the work LE MONTAVOIES – AXONOMETRIE.

This piece is a laser print on transparent polyester tracing film, based on traditional axonometry — a type of perspective drawing without vanishing points, where length, width, and height remain measurable. It depicts Le Montavoies in the French Jura, a site that Cuyvers regards as architecture.

The axonometry originates from a cadastral map and shows intersections of roads, paths, and landscape lines. Thanks to the transparency, the reverse side can be colored with pencils to highlight geological, botanical, and hydrological features.
