For Cabinet, Pei-Hsuan Wang invited her family to take photographs of their kitchen cabinets. She chose one image that captured a quiet yet deeply personal glimpse into homemaking. This photograph was transformed at the MASEREEL studio through a meticulous etching process.

Cabinet presents a stack of mismatched tableware—some handmade, others inherited or purchased—each carrying its own history. These objects embody layered narratives and the shared contributions and evolving memories of a household.

Wang was drawn to the metaphorical weight of the word “cabinet,” not only as a cupboard for domestic items but also as a gathering space, where individuals unite and reconcile differences to create something collective.

The work links everyday beauty with cultural tradition, using a vibrant color palette inspired by temple murals in southern Taiwan.
