Suzon combines a reprint of Raimundas Malašauskas’ sold-out Paper Exhibitions (2012) with new texts published since. Essays, exhibition texts, letters, song lyrics, a speech, and a cocktail recipe sketch his world of collective improvisation, gathering, and persistent curiosity—together offering a glimpse of what we may, in a few years, consider l’esprit du temps.
The book’s title refers to the woman who modeled for Édouard Manet’s A Bar at the Folies-Bergère (1882), a painting that fascinated Malašauskas since childhood.
As part of the residency project …, een dag, een nacht, een dag, …, Malašauskas also produced a limited edition in five versions, featuring a letter to the reader as a drypoint etching and a UV-printed drawing on the wrapper.
